Christmas Countdown

Some people say Christmas is the most magical time of the year. If you are one of them, you are probably holding your breath for the 25th of December of every year, since it involves a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, all family gathered around the table and, more importantly, the most delicious food cooked by our mothers and grandmothers.

Christmas Countdown is a lightweight and portable app which simply displays a countdown timer till Chrismas, as its name implies.

While it certainly does not speed up the time magically, it may keep you alert, especially when Christmas is just around the corner. Perhaps it may even remind you to buy presents early.

Since this is a portable program, installing Christmas Countdown is not necessary. Thus, you can store the tool on a USB flash drive or another storage device, and directly run its executable file on any computer. The Windows Registry is not updated with new entries, and no files are left behind on the hard drive after program removal.

The interface of the app is based on a small and uncomplicated frame where the countdown shows the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds left till Christmas. Enlarging the frame displays the current time and date, along with the total time translated into hours, minutes and seconds.

The straightforward tool runs on a very low amount of system resources and has a good response time. It worked fine throughout our tests, without freezing, crashing or displaying error dialogs. Christmas Countdown is one of those tools that you can simply keep on your desktop and access occasionally to find out how much time you have left till Christmas. Since it has limited features, users with no experience in software programs may quickly learn how to work with it. No recent updates have been made.
