Magnify

Magnify is a lightweight and portable tool that enables you to view any part of the screen magnified up to five times. It's handy for reading very small text on your desktop, as well as for examining details when working with photo editing software, for example.

Once fired up, the application brings up a resizable window to the screen, which starts following your mouse cursor to show the magnified image. It's set to twice the size by default (2x) and it can be upped to 3x, 4x or 5x with just one click.

You can make the frame stay on top of other windows to get a better view of the projects you're currently working on. It can minimize to the taskbar to become non-intrusive.

Unfortunately, there are no other noteworthy options implemented. For instance, keyboard shortcuts would have come in handy for toggling the window display as well as for quickly cycling through the magnification levels.

Since there's no setup kit involved, you can save the downloaded .exe file anywhere on the computer or store it on a removable storage unit to carry with you whenever you're on the move, in order do directly run Magnify on any PC without setup.

It doesn't make any modifications to your system registry, create files on the disk without asking for permission, or need libraries to work. In order to uninstall it, you simply have to delete the executable.

We haven't come across any unpleasant surprises in our tests as far as stability is concerned, since the utility didn't freeze, crash or indicate errors. Unsurprisingly, CPU and RAM usage was low, so it didn't hamper PC performance.

Although it doesn't have richer features, Magnify supplies you with a speedy and effective means of magnifying any part of the desktop.
