If you are using a multi-monitor setup, then you probably noticed that the only way you can adjust the brightness on the second or third monitor is directly via the dedicated button. This may not cause too much of an inconvenience when the devices are all placed within your reach, but you may have to play around a bit to get the same value for all of them.

MonitorBrightnessControl is a lightweight application that provides a quick and convenient way to adjust the brightness on all monitors at the same time.

The program doesn’t require installation, so just launch, and you can start adjusting the brightness using the dedicated button from the System Tray. The app lacks an interface and all the modifications are done via a dedicated bar which feels and looks rather rugged. The said bar doesn’t include any values, so you will just have to experiment to get your monitors to the desired brightness.

I don’t like the fact that the app lacks a quit feature, and you have to close it via the Task Manager. While you can add it to the startup program group, it would have been nice if the tool included some settings that let you make more precise calibrations. Moreover, it would have been nice if the app enabled you to make changes for each monitor, especially as the values and results can differ based on the monitors’ manufacturers.

Overall, the utility seems to be a good choice if you are using a laptop and extra monitors, as you won’t have to get up and manually adjust the brightness any time. In the eventuality that you would like to adjust the brightness level on all your monitors simultaneously, quickly and smoothly, then perhaps you can consider giving MonitorBrightnessControl a try.
