My Drives

My Drives manages to emphasize the "My" in its name. This app is all about making your drives unique, by changing the icons and names associated with them. It allows the user to customize these elements without any restrictions. It could be useful in organizing your many drives if you have that many, or simply to improve the looks and create a unique desktop experience for yourself and any other user on that particular machine.

If you were worried that such functionality might have meant a difficult-to-use interface, you shouldn't have. My Drives sports a simplistic window with all options neatly packed in its small window. The large space on the right holds the icon previews for what could be applied to your drive. You can also load your own icon files, a feature that makes this program quite powerful in terms of customization possibilities. Any new set of icons you add to the list will immediately be displayed in the right pane.

One can also use this application to change the drive's attached label. While one can do that with the Windows tools provided by the OS, it's much more convenient to have this feature here, in the app window. Other adjustable options include adjusting the icon size and the path to your load icon files. There is also a setting to keep the program window on top. Reload or save the icon arrangement if you don't want to apply it yet but would like to keep the settings until you decide on finally applying them.

My Drives is a simple application for those who'd like to either create a more unique arrangement in the My Computer or for those who find it easier to arrange things by adding specific markers to them.
