Note Taker is a lightweight software application designed specifically for helping you take quick notes in order to remember important events or save essential parts from your projects. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

The tool reveals a simple layout which can be resized according to your needs. It does not embed any configuration settings. It actually leaves a lot of space for focusing solely on the process of storing information from different sources.

A help manual cannot be found in the package but you do not need one to decode the program’s features because they look very easy to work with. By default, the main window remains on top of other utilities.

Note Taker gives you the possibility to type in the text directly in the main window or paste the information from the clipboard. You are allowed to copy, paste or delete data, as well as perform searches.

The application is able to automatically remember the content of the notes and saves the window’s position and size. Tests have shown that Note Taker carries out a task quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so you can keep it running in the background without worrying that it burdens the overall performance of the computer.

The final verdict is that Note Taker can be used for writing down all sorts of events and gathering information from different sources with ease. The simplistic layout makes it suitable for less experienced users. Professionals may look for something else because there’s no support for advanced features. You are not allowed to import/export information from/to plain text file format, email notes using your default client, set the background color, and customize the text in terms of font, size and color, just to name some suggestions.
