You can change the area in which notifications appear, either top-right or top-left corners of the screen, using this simple open source application #Move notification #Windows notification #Notification customizer #Notification #Alert #Desktop
For the longest time, people have been accustomed to using every piece of software in the precise way its respective developer intended it to be used, without being able to customize it to fit a particular style of workflow. In the case of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, there is still not enough customization for a large percentage of users.
This leaves the community with the task of solving issues that the company cannot or does not feel the need to handle. Notifications at top promises to solve the problem of not being able to choose the area in which notifications can appear on the desktop.
Some advantages of using open-source software are about knowing if the code that is run on your computer is safe, if it gathers data and if it can be picked up by someone else in the community in case its original developer can no longer support it, and these benefits are present with this app as well.
This application is as straightforward as it gets and, while it lacks any form of user interface, running it is as easy as double-clicking its icon. For a more “fire-and-forget” kind of approach, users can place it inside the Windows Startup folder in order to make it run on boot.
The user is presented with two simple choices regarding the app, since there are two executables that can be downloaded, one which places notifications in the top-left area and one which places them in the top-right corner of the desktop.
Either one can be picked and run in order to move Windows’ notifications from their default bottom right corner position to the desired region at the top half of the screen. The developer also left instructions on how to compile the repository for those who want to try it out themselves.
Notifications at top is a neat, easy to use, open-source application that can move notifications on Windows from the bottom right corner to the top-left or top-right regions of the screen.
