Task Separator 11

Windows 11 provides some ways you can customize the taskbar. By accessing the Personalization - Taskbar in Settings, you can align to the left or add and move the search, widgets and chat, for instance. However, if you want a little bit more, then you need to turn to third-party tools.

Task Separator 11 is a lightweight productivity program that enables you to include a separator in the taskbar and hence, group shortcuts based on various criteria.

The setup is a simple and straightforward process that doesn’t require any special attention. The application doesn’t include an actual interface, but rather some dialog boxes that guide you on how to set the separator. After you click on the Create Separator window, you are prompted to a new window that shows you how to add the divider in 3 easy steps.

As indicated in the window, you should now be able to view a separator in your taskbar that you can move to the desired location using your mouse. The second step entails right-clicking on the divider to pin it to the taskbar. You are done and can close the window.

Although the developer states that you can add multiple dividers, we couldn’t do that during our test. After opening a new session, the focus of the app was still on the separator we added before. Most likely this is a bug that will be addressed in the near future.

Take note that the program doesn’t include any extra functionality than creating the divider to customize the workspace on your taskbar. If you want extra customization, then you need to look for other third-party programs.
