One of the first customization options that everyone’s looking forward to adjust as soon as Windows gets installed on a computer is the desktop wallpaper. There are basic utilities to work with, but there are also tons of third-party alternatives like Wallpaper Changer which make it even easier to have the wallpaper automatically changed so your desktop doesn’t quickly become dull.

Before you get to enjoy all the application has to offer, you need to take a bit of time to go through a setup process. However, the process requires little effort and time and the main window quickly shows up. Its simple, classic design makes sure you get to know all there is from the first few seconds, but there isn’t much to look at to begin with.

Although you may be confused by the simplicity, only the function to add files is initially available, so you don’t spend too much time scratching your head. Unfortunately, it’s the only way you can select the pictures you want to use, because dragging them over the main window has no effect. What’s more, you need to individually select files from the browse dialog, with no option to target an entire folder.

Selected files end up in a list, but with no other details apart from the full path. Changes don’t get applied just yet, and you can choose to add more pictures and handle other controls before the start. Unfortunately, you can only manage a slider related to time, which ranges from 1 to 110 minutes.

This means the you need to make sure that pictures you want to use as wallpapers are all in a proper size option, because there’s no built-in function to set layout. Even so, it would have been useful to at least be able to set a background color for pictures that can’t fit well on your screen.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Wallpaper Changer doesn’t bring anything new on the block, and default options it comes with leave more to be desired. Loading files can take some time because of the difficult browse dialog and no support for drag and drop, and it can quickly make you look for alternatives.
