Having the ability to control the brightness level of your PC’s display can play a detrimental role in your eyesight’s health. This is where TrayBrightness comes into play, allowing you control over both the gamma and backlight values of your monitors’ brightness.

TrayBrightness features a simple deployment process, and users must be aware that they will need to have .NET Framework 3.5 installed on their machines as a prerequisite. Having installed the app, its main access mode will be through its simple, unobtrusive tray area icon.

This will allow you easy access to the sliders that control the values for the gamma and backlight, which can be controlled either using the mouse cursor, or the directional keys of your keyboard. Neat.

As stated in the previous paragraphs, you will be able to control the intensity of the brightness using sliders, for both gamma and backlight. However, there is no way of manually inputting numerical values, which could be useful when wanting to be more precise.

More than that, another aspect that could benefit from improvement in future versions of the application, is having dedicated hotkeys for prompting the adjustment sliders, for even easier access.

Not overly simplistic, not too complex, this app manages to provide an accessible way of adjusting your monitors’ brightness intensity but might lack additional features for fine-tuning the desired brightness values.
