Make all active windows minimize to taskbar, bring them up again, or even make them completely maximized with only a few mouse clicks. #Window Manager #Minimize Windows #Maximize Windows #Minimize #Maximize #Manager
Working with a lot of windows can lead to an overall time-consuming process, regardless of your activities or intentions. This is because there’s only so much space on your desktop, so you need to cleverly arrange them. In this regard, applications like WINzard come with the means to handle all windows with a few mouse clicks.
For its simple core function, the application comes with a pretty convenient advantage, which you notice right after the download is finished. In other words, you can even use it from an USB flash drive, since it requires no installation, thus keeping system registries intact.
Although the name isn’t pretty suggestive, it does try to lead you on the right path. The application is specially created to help you organize a crowded desktop a little better, but only windows are targeted, and not desktop shortcuts. What’s more, it always stays hidden in the system tray, so it doesn’t interfere with what you’re doing.
There’s only a small prompt attached to it once you right-click the tray icon. Truth be told, options are pretty shallow, and you can only close, minimize, restore, or maximize all windows. You can’t target a specific set or class. There’s not even an option to change the size specifications of a window, not to mention creating different layouts.
Moreover, the application doesn’t come with built-in support for hotkeys, which affects practicality even more, especially because minimizing all windows can be done even faster, either through system hotkeys or the button on the bottom right of the screen.
When windows are restored, this is done for everything that’s minimized, although their original size and placement remains intact. This isn’t to be confused with the maximize function, which makes all windows cover your entire screen.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that WINzard is a lightweight, simple application that wants to help you out with window management, but needs a lot of improvements before it can achieve its purpose. Practicality could have been saved if functions could be accessed through hotkeys, thus resulting in more time spent than saved when trying to use WINzard.
What's new in WINzard 2.0.0.0:
- Complete rewrite, allows you to use your own application icon in the system tray. Just drop an ICO file named "winzard.ico" into the directory where you keep your "winzard.exe" and run it... enjoy! Dropped the "anti-IE" behaviour and implemented a "close all" feature.
