Among the first customization options is the desktop wallpaper, with various applications like Wall Flype that want to provide a bit more options than default Windows methods.

The core functionality of the application is to help you change the wallpaper at regular time intervals in an easier manner than Windows does. The main window is responsible for all operations you perform, and accommodation is a walk in the park thanks to the overall simplicity in design.

A side navigation panel lets you browse through folders of your choice, but these need to be added in the application's root folder to be properly read. The list of folders is a tree view, while expanding a directory lets you select from files stored there. The selection enables the preview area, letting you get a glimpse of what can become your new wallpaper.

What’s more, Wall Flype comes with several high-quality images to test out, or even use. The way they are applied on your desktop is selected from the format section, with options for tile, center, and stretch.

By default, the application changes the wallpaper each time you log into Windows, so you get a new wallpaper at every computer start. However, there’s a built-in scheduler that gives you the possibility to set interval in minutes, hours, and days, with a dedicated input value field to write down the number related to time.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Wall Flype doesn’t really bring anything new on the block, being nothing more than a simple re-imagining of the default Windows wallpaper changer. Sure enough, it can be managed faster here, but with nothing to make it stand out from the crowd, practicality is rather questionable.
