New Year Free Screensaver

The new year is a holiday that pretty much the whole world celebrates. It marks the start of a new beginning, and it allows you to make New Year's resolutions to improve yourself. New Year Free Screensaver is a desktop enhancement tool that allows you to relive the joy of New Year's eve each day of the year.

Down to its very basics, the app is nothing more than a slideshow of several winter holiday photos. Worth mentioning is that the app's name is a bit misleading since the pictures are more about Christmas than they are about New Year's.  Nonetheless, the images are beautiful and will surely bring the holiday warmth even if it's the last day of December and its freezing outside. The transition animation also seems to enhance the holiday feeling of the app, since most images contain white snow, and the transition between one and another goes seamlessly.

This app seems to have seen its fair share of New Year's eves since the images are a bit dated from a quality standpoint.  During testing on a 1920x1080 screen, all pictures showed more or less severe signs of pixelation. Worth mentioning is that due to the nature of the picture, this pixelation may add to the overall aesthetics, granting the photos an overall holiday card grainy effect. For further customization, you may access the OS' default screensaver manager to adjust several of the screensaver's features, such as the image keep and transition time.

New Year Free Screensaver will go straight to the heart of any winter holiday fan, as it will bring the warmth that we all associate with that period even to the most gloomy monitors.
