Access your most important folders right from your tray through this app, which provides a convenient Windows 10 feature no longer featured in 11. #Toolbar function #Windows toolbar #Tray folder #Toolbar #Folder #Tray
Microsoft often adds new features meant to improve the convenience and usability of their new Windows OS iterations, but it's never a guarantee that a function from the prior OS will make it into the next.
That was the case with the custom toolbars in Windows 10, through which you could make a specific folder turn into a custom menu for easier reachability. As Windows 11 does not feature that function anymore, it's up to TrayToolbar to provide it: designate a folder you want to access easier, and you'll be able to get to it from the tray.
This app's name is very fitting: it provides a sort of custom toolbar you can use to access a folder of interest faster. Setting up the app is a simple affair: boot it up, then input the location of the folder from the Options menu, and you're set. Upon doing so, you'll have to restart it for the changes to take effect.
After doing that, you'll be able to access your documents right from the tray: all you have to do is right-click the app's icon, and the contents of your chosen folder will appear in a context menu, and you're free to interact with them.
There is no limit to the number of elements a folder can have, so if you have too much stuff in there, the menu will be considerably large. In the Options menu, there is also the option to toggle the icons of your files, which makes it easier to identify them.
If the directory you input happens to have others nested in it, you will also see them when you open up the tray menu. By navigating to them, a submenu will open, showing their contents, and you can access them all the same.
In conclusion, TrayToolbar is a handy little program that does what it sets out to do: it provides a quick and easy way for you to access your files, just like Windows 10 did.
