Copy files from one folder to another by creating multiple backup jobs, adding them to a pending queue, and executing multiple tasks at a time #Sync folder #Backup folder #Folder synchronization #Sync #Synchronization #Backup
2folders is a simple-to-use application that lets you back up files by creating copies in other directories. It doesn't require installation and contains just a few intuitive options.
Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk or on a USB flash drive, and just double-click it to launch 2folders on any PC effortlessly. It doesn't create additional files on the disk or modify Windows registry settings.
As far as the interface is concerned, the program opts for a plain-looking window that doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements. New copy tasks can be created by specifying the profile name, along with the source and output folder. Plus, the tool can be instructed to automatically delete all files and folders which exist in the destination but not in the source.
Tasks are not immediately carried out but added to a pending queue instead. You can create as many profiles as you want, change their order in the list, and check out the name, source and destination, along with the status of each profile.
Backup operations can be executed for one or more selected profiles at the same time; a button is displayed for selecting and deselecting all tasks. Apart from the fact that you can remove any folder pair from the list, there are no other noteworthy options available.
It copied files swiftly in our tests, during which it remained light on system resources usage. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash. On the other hand, the interface and options are pretty rudimentary, making 2folders seem like an unfinished project.
For instance, there are no buttons implemented for using tree views to indicate the source and output folders. Instead, you have to type or paste the full paths. On top of that, it doesn't support additional options, such as filtering files by type or scheduling automatic copy jobs. Nevertheless, you can test 2folders for yourself.
