Automate tasks to rename photos and videos using timestamps, descriptions and auto-numbering, embed timestamps and descriptions in images, and set the task frequency #Photo organizer #Photo renamer #Video renamer #Renamer #Rename #Organizer
Auto-Batch Rename Photos and Videos enables you to automatically group photos based on the time interval you define. It can also rename images and video files in bulk mode. The application offers support for BMP, TIF, JPG, PNG, MP4, MPG, WMV and MOV files.
The setup operation is a speedy and simple task. However, you must have .NET Framework Client Profile installed. As far as the interface goes, the tool opts for a standard window that lists all options.
It provides you with a folder browser for locating a directory to display all files with supported content. You can view only photos or videos, toggle between list and tile view, find out the total number of files, check out the name, format and date of each item, as well as preview images and play videos.
The files can be grouped automatically based on the batch time interval you define between the current and next automatic task (in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years). After executing the task, the original files are moved to a new folder created in the same directory, while the new ones are renamed based on the date, description and starting number you define for auto incrementation.
These timestamps and descriptions may also be embedded in the pictures after adjusting their size and previewing results. The successfully renamed files are highlighted in green in the task list, while the failed ones are marked in blue and automatically scheduled for the next batch (at the batch time interval you specified).
The program worked smoothly in our tests, without crashing or showing error dialogs. It carried out file renaming tasks swiftly while remaining light on system resources consumption. On the other hand, it temporarily hangs when opening a folder with numerous files.
Although help documentation is available, the method used by Auto-Batch Rename Photos and Videos for renaming files by examining time differences is needlessly difficult. Otherwise, it gets the job done.
