Code Compare

Code Compare is a lightweight Windows application designed specifically for helping you compare and synchronize text, source code, XML files, as well as directories. It makes it easier for reviewing code data.

You are welcomed by a clean and intuitive layout that allows you to compare two files or directories at the same time.

Items or folders can be imported in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support. You are allowed to easily switch between the file and directory comparison mode.

Code Compare offers you the option to check out the comparison results in a dedicated panel. The tool automatically highlights the differences and reveals a line comparison preview.

You can use the line comparison mode in order to edit the information and save the changes. You can jump to the next or previous difference from the list, as well as view all comparison details or filter the information by differences.

The comparison summary records information about the total number of matching lines, lines displayed in the left and right sides, as well as lines with differences. Code Compare helps you copy the selected line to the other side, save changes to an individual file, and ignore, edit, delete or insert lines.

The application gives you the possibility to choose between three comparison methods, namely fast, medium or slow. The last one performs thorough data verification and is accurate but you should know that it takes a lot more time than the other modes.

Last but not least, you can integrate the utility in the context menu and generate a registry script for Vista and users without administrative privileges in order to install the program in the context menu of Windows Explorer.
