Amiibo is Nintendo's own version of popular toys-to-life series such as LEGO Dimensions, Skylanders, and Disney Infinity. Working with the same type of NFC technology, these toys are collectibles that alter the way you play games on Nintendo consoles like the Switch, WiiU, and 3DS. Since we're talking about collectibles in the vast world of Nintendo characters, the need for software to keep track of collections was a must. This is how Amiibo Collection made its debut.

Since we're talking about a huge amount of Nintendo merchandise, the applications are split into categories with proprietary brands such as Animal Crossing, Shovel Knight, Kirby, Super Mario, Skylanders, and others having their dedicated space. Once you purchase any of the Amiibo toys, head to the app, select the category, depending on your purchase, and finally click on the item you have acquired.

If you purchase an ultra-rare Mario Amiibo figurine, you'll most likely find the item placed in the Super Mario category. Click on the item, and the program will register it as purchased and present in your collection. If for some reason you no longer have a certain item in your collection, clicking its thumbnail will unselect it and virtually have it locked for when it becomes once again part of your collection.

That's all there is to this app, and although it might seem too little for some, Amiibo fans will rejoice at the thought of having a place where to keep track of all purchased Nintendo toys. Amiibo Collection could become the backbone of your collection, helping you keep track of what you have and what you don't.
