EMI Background Viewer

I for one, really enjoyed Escape from Monkey Island, and always wondered what would it take to extract some of those gorgeous backgrounds for personal use.

Well, all it takes it seems is EMI Background Viewer, an application designed for this exact purpose and with a simple and friendly interface even a toddler could use.

Well, the user needs to have the video game in its original form, one way or another, be it for PS2 or PC. You can also use the demo of the game if you simply want to try the app and extract whatever backgrounds are available during the unlocked sequences.

The whole procedure is risk-free, so you won't end up jamming your machine or complicating your situation.

The program will display a list of compatible background items found in the game files. These can be previewed in the right pane of the application, a big window that will satisfy your need to check the original backgrounds and figure out a use for them.

Starting with the Open button, continuing with the Save and Save All options, and ending with the About selection, you can pretty much understand how simple the whole system is. You can select and export one or as many backgrounds as you want.

The procedure is very simple, the only choice you must make is the location where all saved files are to end up. EMI Background Viewer is pretty much a straightforward solution for grabbing a couple of unique backgrounds for use with whatever projects you might have on your table.

As long as you find what you need, it can be exported and repurposed without any issues. Make sure you choose more than one, in case you want to have extras for later on.
