Genshin Utility

Among the more common complaints that you're bound to see about Genshin and the newly-released Honkai: Star Rail, the 60 FPS cap is one that does have a fix. While some are content with it and don't see any reason to unlock the frame rate, those more concerned about performance have to go looking for third-party tools to go past those 60 frames.

Luckily, there are solutions that can enable you to go past that framerate cap, and they're surprisingly easy to use. One such tool comes in the form of Genshin Utility, which allows users to set a framerate limit higher than 60, modify their field of view, and even disable in-game fog effects.

The software comes in the form of a simple command line utility which has to be run before starting the game. Run the tool, start up Genshin or Star Rail, and its interface should appear within the game's window.

While the interface isn't at all distracting, you can toggle it using the Insert hotkey. As for the available options, you'll be able to set your own frame limit, regardless if it's higher or lower than 60. It should be noted that the tool works the same in both games.

As stated earlier, the utility is not just a frame rate unlocker. It does give you a few extra options that you can make use of, such as modifying the field of view and disabling fog effects.

A frame rate counter is available for use. Enabling V-Sync is also an option, although you can do just the same through the game's settings.

Genshin Utility works as expected and we encountered no problems during testing. Though the added quality-of-life features are nice, bear in mind that you're still using the tool at your own risk.
