With numerous, critically-acclaimed console exclusives locked behind a platform, and many more on the way, the interest for emulators has always been present in the background. Though the road to a full-blown emulator supporting all console exclusives is long and perilous, new developments show that efforts are being made in the right direction. Kyty is an emulator for PlayStation 4 and 5, allowing users to play some simple games on those platforms from their computer.

The emulator comes with a no-nonsense interface, where users can set up the emulation environment according to their needs and preferences. To begin, click on New configuration, and start modifying the settings per your requirements.

Most of the settings are related to graphics settings, allowing users to pick their preferred resolution, modify how shaders are processed, as well as enable the PS4 Pro mode.

The developer mentions that only some simple games for PS4 work for now, with  only homebrews being supported for PS5 titles. As this is still an early release, unstable behavior may occur, and it's worth noting that high-spec computers are quite necessary when it comes to emulating games from other platforms. Nevertheless, progress is being made to improve on the emulator's overall performance and game support.
