SOSSE or in its longer form Story of Seasons Save Editor is an application that, you guessed it, deals with save files of the game with almost the same name. You will also need some extra tools in order to manage to use this app as intended. The user needs to decrypt the save files first and then also encrypt them back for in-game use. Regardless, the application offers many adjustment possibilities in order to make your in-game life easier.

I was surprised by how many options the user actually gets upon launching this application. You can change items in your character's inventory, objects in and around your location, recipes, patterns, logs, blueprints, and even shops. With this in mind, it's still worth mentioning that the user should always keep in mind to use such tools with caution. Working with them too much might end up ruining your original game experience.

Another tip absolutely worth keeping in mind is that a backup should be made of any files you might attempt to alter. Otherwise, you run the risk of losing all your progress and having to start your quests all over again. The program does not include a backup feature, even though it could have been useful in many scenarios.

Although against artificially enhancing your in-game situation, I do find it a good option if you're in it for the story and less concentrated on the mechanics of the video game. If you don't want to waste time accruing items and increasing your level, then you can use this application without much complications. I also found it useful for increasing your chances of finding certain items in shops around the in-game map.

SOSSE is exactly what the name states, a simple save editor designed for users and gamers who are tired of wasting their precious time on tasks in-game that do not contribute to the story arc directly. It can, of course, be used in many other situations but do keep in mind you run the risk of ruining the overall game experience.
