Designed as an app to help SteelSeries product owners get more out of their purchase, this app can also be utilized by any type of user looking to record and communicate better in their games. #Gaming Tool #Record Game Moment #Gaming Equalizer #Gaming #Record #Moment
Tools centered around gaming are a bit of a mixed bag for many users: some consider them wholly unnecessary, deeming their use no more than installing bloatware, while others see them as potentially useful tools in certain circumstances. The truth — if there's any — is most likely in the middle, so it ultimately depends on each individual's use cases.
SteelSeries is a gaming peripherals maker with quite some presence in the business. Besides offering owners of SteelSeries peripherals a means to customize them, the SteelSeries GG app allows anyone to record their most important gaming moments, help them tweak their audio across the board, as well as tweak their microphone so anything they say comes out clear.
Fans of the company's peripherals need to look no further, as this software application brings forth all that SteelSeries has to offer: mice, keyboards, headsets, and other such products are easily reachable (and customizable) through the interface. Guides and articles of all manners are up on the Home tab, while peripherals customization can be handled in the Engine menu. Giveaways of all sorts take place under the designated category, so keep an eye out if you see anything that interests you.
The Moments and Sonar tabs are where the tool's functionality extends beyond just being an auxiliary tool for your peripherals. Users can instantly capture their most recent in-game moments by enabling the Moments feature, and engaging the Alt+S hotkey.
Sonar, on the other hand, allows users to tweak multiple parameters about their input and output audio. Through it, users can implement a per-game equalizer, which can work to offer a more immersive experience. Microphone equalizers are also present, and they can help provide a clarity boost in some situations.
Sonar allows for some quite deep equalizer customization. Whether you wish to make foosteps in Counter Strike appear more recognizable, or are looking to tweak your microphone's noise response, there's a lot that can be done here. Numerous presets are available to make life even easier, so feel free to experiment and see what fits you best.
Moments can be a useful addition to your gaming experience, especially if you find yourself always wanting to record that one tower dive in League of Legends, or that 1v3 clutch in Mirage. Users can select how those clips are handled in the Settings menu, where they'll also be able to address storage and fidelity concerns.
An Auto-clip function is also present, and though it is only in Early Access now, it shows a lot of promise. Per its designation, this function is supposed to automatically store a clip when a certain in-game play happens, without requiring user input.
Even if you do not own SteelSeries peripherals of any kind, this is nevertheless one to try: competitive players will find a lot to like here, with the Sonar and Moments features being the highlights.
