With an increasingly higher number of online multiplayer games moving to the free-to-play type of live service, plenty of in-game content such as cosmetics get locked behind paid tiers or proprietary currency forms in order to generate revenue. One issue is that players rarely have the opportunity to test the skins during combat before purchasing them, which is where ValoDaiv comes into play.

Similarly to most games foregoing one of the most pivotal features of the tech landscape — playable demos, a wide array of purchasable in-game items cannot be tried beforehand to allow players to check whether the skin or weapon stats suit their play-style.

Some solutions can be applied in the form of “Skin Boosters”, where certain cosmetics can be applied for the duration of one game, with a prime example being another free-to-play title in the hero FPS genre known as Paladins.

As such, the app at hand injects itself into the client-side Valorant API to apply the skin of your choice for the current round, while also letting you change the rank for times when you wish the game would display the skill set assigned to you before the seasonal rank reset.

Finally, since matches can have only one of each agent available, the program also provides you with the option to instantly lock the agent you wish to play as in an attempt to secure the right character for levelling up, training your skills or carrying out a particular mission.

Given the sheer amount of work required to maintain high player counts when it comes to free-to-play live service models, developers can use a helping hand from the modding community with additional features that come packaged in formats the likes of ValoDaiv.
