Yoshi's Sounds

Yoshi's Sounds is a fun soundboard that Super Mario fans will definitely dig. As you might have guessed, this rather simple, yet fun application includes different sounds made by the Yoshi character in Nintendo's franchise.

While things have evolved since Yoshi's first appearance in Super Mario, the fact that there is a large fan base interested in anything that has to do with this guy means that this particular program is not as useless as you might have initially thought.

The program is rather simple and features nine different sounds attributed to the Yoshi character within the Mario game universe. Each sound is represented by an egg, which is the exact same item you find the dinosaur hatching out of. Each egg has been colored differently so that one can keep track of which sound is which.

While you can use it for a couple of seconds worth of fun, there's nothing stopping you from integrating these sounds into something more advanced, like a physical soundboard. After all, this app does closely resemble one. You could combine these sounds with a Mario-themed project.

Although there's not much else to discuss about this program, the main feature, the sounds, are indeed well recorded. There are no glitches or interruptions, and most importantly, they do not seem to be cut from a longer sequence. This is good news, especially since working with sound at any level requires high-quality samples. Children will also like to combine the given sounds to create funny sequences that will keep a smile on their faces for hours.

Yoshi's Sounds is by far one of the simplest apps that can be encountered. Although this is indeed an issue to take into consideration, the quality behind each visual and audio element ends up creating a polished and refined product that can be used by both children and adults.
