Web surfing application designed to offer minimal support to your typical Internet browsing experience while sporting a multi-tabbed environment #Web browser #View web page #Web page viewer #Browse #Browser #View
This program is probably one of the most basic browsers built on Internet Explorer's core code. However, its merits come from avoiding cloning the famous Microsoft application completely. Andy's Browser retains only the fundamental mechanics of Internet Explorer, more specifically the URL bar and support for multiple tabs. Except these features, there's nothing else you'd see borrowed from other browsers in its main interface.
Although its webpages rendering support is taken straight from Internet Explorer, its core functions are, sometimes, ignored for interface simplicity. For instance, users can add webpages to favorites and even organize them into different folders, but there isn't any button or indicator that may lead users to where those saved pages may be. This way, you can only hope that favorite websites are stored somewhere in the background and someday you'll find that mysterious hidden folder if there's any.
Andy's Browser's multi-tab feature is a peculiar design, however. It does not function as you're used to seeing in more common browsers, but at least it's there. The main reason for this is that tabs are predefined for the user, and each has a pre-labeled number. There isn't any way to add more tabs, and neither to reduce their count. You just access whatever pages you like on any of them and it remains assigned to that tab.
Similar to the Internet Explorer, users can change the webpage's encoding, view its source, and even check its properties. The browser offers support for Flash-based and HTML5 websites, thanks to its similarity with Internet Explorer's rendering engine.
Andy's Browser is built to offer a simpler alternative to other mainstream web browsers and functions with a minimal set of features that guarantee a less resource hungry web surfing experience. However, poorly implemented solutions can, sometimes, hinder a flawless Internet browsing practice.
