Mouse Gestures

Web browsing, regardless of purpose, can become tedious because you press the same buttons and shortcuts over and over. While this may indeed be the fastest solution once you get the hang of it, some may feel the need to spice thing up by adding a personal touch. Mouse Gestures is an interesting addon for Microsoft Edge, as it allows you to perform various browser commands just by gesturing with your mouse.

While most of you know about pressing Ctrl+1-8 to switch to the specified tab, counting from the left, or how Ctrl+Shift+T reopens the last closed tab, you might be delighted to know that most of these tasks can also be done via mouse movements, thanks to this file extension. All gestures revolve around you pressing the right-click button, holding it down, and then dragging it in a specified direction depending on what you want to accomplish. For example, holding right-click pressed and gesturing to the left will open the previous tab, while holding and moving to the right, and then upwards will open a new one.

Of course, all the examples mentioned above are just the default commands, since each gesture can be assigned a different action altogether, therefore fitting anyone's tastes. Currently, the app supports 16 possible gestures, varying from simple straight lines, to 90 degree turns and even sharp angle gestures.  It even supports touch pens, so you don't have to worry about being limited just to mouse gestures. Once installed, the addon can be deactivated anytime, so you don't have to worry about losing access to all your other functions available only via right-clicking.

Mouse Gestures is a great addition for those wishing to try a different browsing experience on their Edge browser, as it acts like a breath of fresh air as opposed to the constant clicking and button mashing.
