Relying on the WebView2 web engine, this web browser provides a secure and fast navigator with no tracking and information collection functions. #Web browser #Edge browser #Internet browser #Browser #Browse #Navigator
It is a well-known fact that web browsers have embedded functions for tracking browsing habits and collecting data for an enhanced user experience. However, these practices raise concerns related to security and privacy protection, so no wonder that even individual users started to pay more attention to their security settings while navigating online.
Having that in mind, the developers of the SSuite NetSurfer created a web browser whose focus is security and speed, ensuring that no data is collected, and no actions are tracked while online.
First of all, note that NetSurfer runs via the WebView2 runtime control, which is the internal web engine of Microsoft Edge, a Chromium-based engine that receives security patches and updates regularly, while also ensuring high-performance and browsing speed.
Since NetSurfer runs on WebView2 directly, it does not feature the data collection or tracking functionality included in Edge or other browsers. In other words, it provides the speed and performance of Edge while eliminating telemetry features completely, including link filtering or URL click tracking. Due to security concerns as well, the NetSurfer browser does not support extensions.
The tab-based GUI of NetSurfer allows you to open and browse multiple tabs at the same time. But let’s begin with the browser’s homepage, which comprises a digital clock and one-click access to all your favorite pages, all carefully categorized to keep things organized. There is also a MAC OS dock-like toolbox in the lower side of the home screen, which offers quick access to online tools provided by SSuite.
Evidently, you can also use the browser to explore pages on the Internet and, in this case, you get the classic web browser structure: the address bar is in the top toolbar, accompanied by navigation, refresh and home page buttons, options to save the page as a file, printing and zooming tools. It is a bit annoying that buttons don’t have titles to show you what they do when hovered, but once you get used to them, that should not be an issue anymore.
Going back to security features, it is worth noting that NetSurfer browser also comes with a private mode as well, which ensures protection against tracking and data collection attempts.
Moreover, the browser can block social media and website tracking on all the visited pages, while also providing individual cookie blocking. You can open any webpage in a separate popup window using the first button in the toolbar and click on the small lock icon to see and change the security settings.
NetSurfer is a simple privacy-oriented browser which eliminates tracking and data collection, while maintaining the speed and performance of the WebView2 runtime control, the engine at the core of Microsoft Edge. While it is not as full of features as other browsers, NetSurfer does come with the basic toolset you need to navigate online.
