ScChrom

ScChrom is short for Scriptable Chromium, and the tool enables easy web testing by allowing to write the code for different functions and to deploy new features.

The application is an open-source project that was mainly built using C#. The tool is only available for Windows OS. Upon download, the executable is super small in size. However, after adding all the required dependencies and setting up your development and testing environment, you should expect to have a pretty large collection of files. For this purpose, there is needed to have more than 300 MB of free space.

Consequently, you should expect to see four main things when opening the tool for the first time: one — the 'Checkout example config' command (which is a section containing examples of fully-scripted and testable features that are also editable by you), two — the 'Learn More' section (that leads you to the app's help center), three — the 'Show Help' option (that explains the syntax, parameters you should use, etc.), and the 'Show Editor' feature (where you can open the tool's editor, test and run scripts, add parameters or JSController methods, or edit the metadata).

The current program, ScChrom, has an interesting architecture that enables flexibility for testers, web developers, and generally, users who want to test the application or might be thinking to write their own browser. At the same time, you could be using it for creating custom scripts, run different tests, or try to create scripts/pieces of code for features you might want to integrate into larger applications.
