eBrowser

There are a few ways through which you can access the information superhighway, but using a web browser remains the most commonly used. The market is flooded with such products that constantly struggle to provide better performance and more features, with several that managed to make a name for themselves throughout the years. A more recent addition, but not to the popular list is eBrowser, with the sole purpose to make you reach the Internet.

Right after the short installation process you can go ahead to take the application for a spin to see what it's all about, not that it's too difficult to figure out. The default homepage is Google, brought to you in a fixed window position. It's best to leave the size as is, because stretching the borders only results in unveiling empty space, with the website not filling it in.

Overlooking the window size inconvenience, you start to look for an input field to see how fast you're taken to your favorite website. Disappointment shortly kicks in when you realize there is no such thing as an URL field, which questions practicality almost entirely. The upper toolbar is only fitted with back and forth buttons for navigation, as well as one that brings up Google again.

It's in fact the only way you can access other web pages. No limitations are encountered, speed is decent, but you don't get to fully enjoy content of favorite web pages due to random script errors that pop up every now and then.

There's no tab support and you don't know what web page is active unless bringing up the browser, since the title bar does not display the page name. On the other hand, there's the possibility to run multiple application instances for different pages, but with no built-in favorites manager, history tracker and other elements, it's difficult to consider running the application again, let alone another instance.

Bottom line is that eBrowser barely makes it to the category of web browsers. It's only suitable to check whether or not your connection is active, because it's missing so many features, even basic, fundamental ones like an input filed that you're tempted to look for alternatives from the first few seconds spent testing the application.
