LANChat

LANChat is a straightforward IP based messenger software solution that allows users to connect to other computers by simply filling in the friend's hostname and the port number.

The main interface is very simple and comes in handy especially for beginners who don't know how to use complicated applications that require IT knowledge or simply don't know how to configure a remote connection.

While chatting with your friend, you are allowed to view all the conversation logs between you and your buddy, as well as to view the hostname you are connected to and the port number LANChat is listening to.

What's more helpful is that you can save all the conversation logs to a TXT file, which can be found in the application's folder.

The app features an intuitive ribbon menu that allows you to change to 'Do not disturb' mode in case you don't want to receive any messages while leaving the computer or simply closing the connection between you and the other PC.

In case you want to resume the connection, easily change to 'Listening' mode and connect to your friend.

The connection process is performed very quickly, not just when you add a new connection, but also when you switch between listening modes, depending on the network speed.

In case you have to work, or your friend is not responding to your messages, simply minimize the window. LANChat displays all the incoming messages in the titlebar, so you can't miss them. You will get notified each time you receive a new message because of the activated sounds, but you can deactivate them if convenient.

Still, if you want to restore a connection between you and an existing hostname, LANChat provides you with the possibility of remembering all the connected hosts so you can easily reestablish the link-up.
