Anatine is an application that enables you to access your Twitter account and chat, get notifications, reply or view the latest tweets from the users you are following in real-time.

After a quick and uneventful setup, you are prompted to enter your Twitter account credentials. In case you do not have an account, then you will be happy to learn that you can create one from within the application. Once logged in, you can preview your home page along with the latest news and tweets from the users you are following.

The utility comes with a simplistic interface that enables you to preview messages, send tweets and replies, get real-time notifications or search for users and topics. The UI can be resized, a feature that ensures that you can perform other activities or work with other programs and you can navigate faster via pre-defined hotkeys.

You should know that the application supports limited configuration, namely that you can increase or decrease the size of the text size and reset it to restore it to its original format. It would have been nice if the program allowed you to edit your profile or change the password, specify whether you would like to receive email notifications and mute or block accounts, for instance.

Moreover, it would be helpful if the program enabled you to create and add sections so you can organize the content better and more efficiently. It should come with a function that permits you to filter hashtags or key phrases, so that you preview the relevant tweets on the home page. On a side note, while not very elegant, you can use the search function to look for specific topics via keywords.

Anatine is a simplistic utility that solely enables you to access your Twitter account without having to use a browser. In case you do not need to manage the data from your Twitter account or do not intend to perform advanced actions, then it might be worth a try.
