However, turning to specialized applications such as Peerdock can help you significantly reduce time spent performing the operations mentioned above and generally achieve more convenient results.

First things first, the purpose of this application is to help users share and download various pieces of software over the Peerdock network without significant efforts. If you're familiar with Linux package management solutions, you probably understand the concept behind this app, as well.

You can add sources to the list, update their contents and use the data they provide you with to fetch certain software products without breaking a sweat. However, for now, you can only choose between two sources, which provide you with limited choices regarding software solutions.

Unlike other download managers, Peerdock doesn't offer you the luxury of a Graphic User Interface (GUI), but treats you with a CLI (Command Line Interface) instead, which you can easily get the hang of after running it one or two times.

After you launch the application, you will notice the large ASCII logo, as well as a numbered list of options that range from "Install package" to "Exit program". You can access each of these by simply typing their corresponding number in the main window.

Another perk of this application is that you don't need to install it on your computer since it is portable and simply running its executable lets you operate on any of its features directly.

More so, it doesn't tamper with any of your Windows registry entries and doesn't create additional files or folders on your computer without your explicit permission (e.g. when you download something).
