Persepolis Download Manager

Created as a graphical user interface for the aria2 console download utility, Persepolis Download Manager is a simple yet efficient open-source software tool for grabbing files on the Internet. Written in Python, this application enables you to manage all your downloads from a single place.

Downloads are neatly organized in different queues, the default ones being “Single Downloads” and “Scheduled Downloads”. You can optionally add new queues and name them as you please, which is quite convenient, as you can categorize downloads as you consider fit.

Persepolis Download Manager features automatic clipboard detection, which means that it reads the clipboard content when you initiate a new download and automatically pastes the URL into the download field. You can configure it to rename the downloaded file and use proxy connection for a specific download job. If the download page requires credentials, you can provide the username and the password in the designated fields. Advanced options allow you to fill in referrers, headers, user agents, and cookies.

Thanks to the multi-segment downloading engine, Persepolis Download Manager promises to deliver high download speeds. Moreover, you can limit the number of concurrent connections, set a start and an end time for a download job and limit the speed, if you want.

There is an integrated download scheduler, which means you can enter all the details for the upcoming download and schedule it at a convenient time in the future. This comes in handy especially for large files, which can be postponed for a time when you are not using the PC.

Integrated video downloader

One feature worth noting is the video finder. This is, in fact, a dedicated video downloader that you can use to grab content from popular video sharing websites, such as Vimeo, DailyMotion, YouTube and more.
