TikTok Downloader

TikTok Downloader is a lightweight application that enables you to grab content from the popular platform. It supports mass download from the same user, so it may come in handy for those times when you don’t have access to the Internet or want to learn more about a topic, as presented by a user you’re following.

It’s not the most flashy interface out there and doesn’t include a preview window, as most of the downloaders I’ve tested. Nevertheless, it does a great job at grabbing TikTok videos. I simply pasted the link in the corresponding box, and it downloaded it in a manner of seconds.

I noticed that the app automatically creates two folders, one for the downloaded videos and another that includes the logs and searches. The small organization is beneficial, as other similar tools tend to place the finished clips in various location on your drive, and you need to dig for them.

You can download single videos from TikTok, but you can also enable the batch downloader if you run the scripts when running the app for the first time. In case you skip this step and are using Firefox as your default browser, you can still install the scripts manually later on.

The project is in its early phase, and there are many things that could use some tweaking. For starters, the app cannot download via TikTok direct links, and you will need to open them in the browser of TikTok, which have a different format.

Moreover, while it works with most of the popular browsers out there, including Chrome, Brave, Firefox and Edge, it doesn’t support Opera GX just yet. I see it in the roadmap for TikTok Downloader, so hopefully the support will be included in the future.
