Downloading videos from the web is something that everybody can do nowadays. The times when you had to ask around on shady sites for a program that could help you snag a video from YouTube are long gone. All kinds of third-party applications, browser add-ons, and services are now available to the masses, the only issue being personal preference. If you happen to favor desktop apps for your downloading purposes, YTGrabber might be a perfect choice.

YTGrabber needs only a URL in order to begin downloading a video. Paste the link in the designated field, edit the output location, select the file format, download quality, bitrate, and hit the Download button. All these commands are found within the intuitive and compact GUI, along with a small preview window that displays the video's thumbnail, title, number of views, and duration. This way, you can check if the pasted URL is the correct one.

The format combo menu is not overflowing with options, yet for the day-to-day user, the list might be enough. The default format will always be set to MP4, but you can also choose to save videos like WEBM, AVI, MOV, MKV, MP3, OGG, WAV, and OPUS.

Regarding the resolution pool and bitrate values, these appear to be influenced by how the original videos were formatted. So you may find a video that has only one bitrate option and a couple of resolution values.

If you take a look at the top part of the interface you'll notice two words, Download and Activity. Those are window selectors which change the view from the Download layout to Activity panel — where the active download are listed along with their ETAs.

With the asynchronous downloading feature, you can switch back to the download tab and add another video to the queue, without affecting the ones that are already in progress.

YTGrabber is yet another YouTube download manager from thousands more, but that is not relevant since the application was very stable during the testing phase, and no issues were encountered while one or multiple videos were being downloaded.
