OutlookHeaders Add-in

Tinkering with email headers, both in terms of pure formatting, as well as functionality, can sometimes involve more time and hassle than one would expect. This is valid for a wide range of online platforms and desktop mail clients, such as Microsoft Outlook. The special requirements for header editing can go even further, especially when dealing with special formats and syntax in headers. OutlookHeaders Add-in was developed for such particular circumstances.

This add-in will provide users with the ability to adjust outbound email messages and it was initially created in order to address the special HTTP header formats for enabling Amazon SES tracking capabilities, which, at the time, were not supported by the native Microsoft Outlook client.

In a nutshell, the add-in will allow users to add arbitrary HTTP headers to outbound email messages, overwrite mail client names, in order to conceal the Outlook origin, suppress the initially received header, in order to avoid IP public inclusions, as well as perform adjustments to the format of the replies and forwarding to messages. This is available for both plain text and HTML, regardless of the original message.

Last but not least, the add-in will automatically remove the tracking pixel from replies or forwarded messages.
