Postman

If you have multiple email accounts configured on various email providers, then you probably know how difficult it is to stay up to date with all of them, especially if you don't use an email client but rely only on the web browser instead.

A simple solution for this is Postman. This is a pretty old application that doesn't seem to receive updates any longer. However, with a bit of configuration, we got it up and running on Windows 10 without getting any errors.

Postman is a desktop tool that can connect to any email provider via POP3 and SMTP, giving you the possibility to send messages with any sender address, meaning that it can be used to effortlessly play pranks on your friends by spoofing the email address of the sender. Staying silently in the systray, the program can also check your inbox and notify you of the latest received messages.

Once installed, Postman creates an icon in the systray, providing quick access to its settings via the right-click menu. To get started, you can specify connection details like the POP3 and SMTP server address, interval of time between checkups for new messages, the username and password registered on the specified servers, as well as whether or not you want to get notified of new messages since there's the possibility of muting this if you don't wish to be disturbed while working on the computer.

When composing a new message, you can write the sender name and email address even if they are different that your own, indicate the recipient name and email address, as well as write the email subject and body. There's also an option in the right-click menu of Postman's systray icon for checking for new inbox messages right away.

The program worked smoothly on the newest Windows version in our tests. Too bad that Postman is no longer in development. It offers a simple and straightforward solution for staying in touch with your inbox as well as for sending messages using any email address and name.
