ZMail

Emails are a common way of modern communication, helping businesses and individuals keep in touch as long there’s a bit of available web connection to send the message. There are various email service provides, and you surely have an account. In this regard, ZMail wants to help you sent messages without having to use the browser.

One of the application’s main advantages is that it doesn’t take you through a setup process, and can thus be used to send mail messages from other computers, given there’s an active Internet connection. Moreover, runtime doesn’t put a strain on stability of the target PC, because registry entries are not altered.

All the application has to offer is found in a pretty compact main window fitted with two tabs for the message itself, as well as the server configuration. Needless to say that you first need to punch in appropriate credentials for everything to work. These refer to server, username and password, with details saved for later use.

Note that the service you use needs to have SMTP support, because it’s the only protocol used by the application. The message itself can be from a custom sender, but the receiver can only be one individual, and you need to write the exact address because there’s no access to your contacts database.

As far as the email body is concerned, it can be pasted from existing documents or written down on the spot. However, editing options are pretty poor, with basic attributes and color customization being the only possible tweaks. Attachments can’t be included, and there’s no built-in function to customize signatures.

Bottom line is that an email sent at the right moment can make a difference, and ZMail wants to help you do this from any computer, with little effort. Server and account credentials are easy to configure, and saved for later use, and even though the body only contains plain text, there’s a chance it might come in handy one day.
