BitTorrent clients have come a long way since the inception of the concept, many, many years ago, and although numerous aspects surrounding their functioning and capabilities have changed, the core elements still remained the same. There is a set of simple yet essential features that need to be present in such a program, and MooPolice was created around this idea. However, the application does not only come with the required features but also aims to provide a different approach to torrent handling, especially in terms of looks.

We enjoyed the fact that the application carries an inherently simple design, which doesn’t necessarily lose any essential features for doing so. Quite the contrary, we felt that working with this simple design is both straightforward and accessible.

The main interface actually serves more as a detailed logger, and those who are accustomed to seeing many distinct menus might not enjoy the fact that access to most of the app’s tools and features is done via the context-menu. But we appreciated this simple approach.

Having added a torrent to the download queue, one will be able to preview detailed information about the ongoing download, as well as the files in question, and this is possible via the aforementioned logger, of course.

However, an even more nifty feature is an on-screen download gauge, which can fill you in on details pertaining to speed, ETA, percentage downloaded, and a number of seeds or peers. We found this to be quite informative.

All-in-all, MooPolice provides a good set of features for your torrent endeavors, all offered in an accessible and straightforward manner.
