Allow Right-Click for Chrome

Some websites prevent their visitors from opening the right-click menu in their browser to avoid image downloading, copying and pasting content or having to share other resources. There is a way to bypass this behavior and restore the right-click functionality: the Allow Right Click extension.

You might wonder what websites block the right-click menu. Well, Instagram and 500px for instance do not allow you to copy the image or the video URL the normal way.

While this text is dedicated to the Chrome add-on, please keep in mind that the extension is also available for other major web browsers, including Opera, Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

As it is the case with any other Chrome extension, installing Allow Right Click takes just a few seconds and the new icon is displayed in the toolbar, right next to the address bar. This new button should be pressed every time you discover that the right-click menu in Chrome is blocked.  Allow Right Click takes a few seconds to run its scripts and perform the “miracle”. And that is it.

But what happens behind the curtain? Well, as you press the Allow Right Click button, the add-on tries to execute a background script to restore access to the right-click menu on the loaded website. The script is only executed if you press the button, which means that Allow Right Click is not consuming any resources unless its button is pressed.

Allow Right Click is an efficient add-on for Chrome, removing restrictions related to the right-click menu. In other words, with the help of this add-on, you should be able to restore a basic browser feature in Google Chrome: the options in the right-click context menu.
