An ad-blocker will definitely help in this situation, and nowadays, there is plenty of fish in the sea regarding this type of software/service.

If you are not yet decided on what blocker to go with, Bye Bye Ads could interest you. This neat Chrome extension blocks both ads and trackers, but it also comes with the freedom of allowing ads or trackers if you decide that the best course of action.

Accessing the Ad Filtering menu will provide you with some AdGuard functions that allow you to turn on and off AdGuard Base, Mobile Ads, and Annoyances.

To conclude, Bye Bye Ads could make for a potentially better ad-blocker than most free add-ons of the same family. Requiring a subscription fee might seem like a deal-breaker, but if you are willing to throw in a couple of bucks, you could have a more complete ad-blocking experience — the price should worth it.
