It is worth noting that the development team of this add-on also provides the ColorVeil standalone application, which can place the colored filter onto the entire screen, not just the browser window.

Once installed in Google Chrome, ColorVeil places a colored filter onto the visited browser pages, immediately visible. This filter is meant to reduce eye strain and help with dyslexia and other medical conditions, such as the Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome. 

With visual stress reduced, browsing web pages in Chrome becomes much more pleasant, especially during nighttime, when the screen brightness and the blue light might hurt your eyesight.

The extension can be easily disabled from the add-on's options, if needed. You can change the veil color and adjust the veil’s opacity level as you need to.
