Nowadays, the Internet is no longer a neutral and safe space as it was when the base was established. Economic attacks, personal data theft, false information spread, and other ill intentions can be easily performed from behind a computer. To stay at safe as you can, you can only search and use tools that will improve your protection levels. Emsisoft Browser Security is a small browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) that can boost your online protection levels in order to make the internet surfing a little bit safer.

In order to install it, you need to add it to your browser.  This process takes a couple of seconds before the extension is up. When you access it, you can notice that the tool is activated by default. If you need to go on a website with false positives notifications, just slide it off.

Emsisoft Browser Security boosts the protection levels against malware sites and phishing attempts. This means that every time you land on a dangerous website the extension will block it with a warning page. If you think it's safe, you can either deactivate the extension or ignore the warning. Also, the ext provide better protection against information theft by identifying the sites with phishing elements.

On the downside, the "manage exceptions" option, that lets you create a list of excluded websites (resembling a firewall) it does not appear to work. There are no functions or buttons that let you add a website on that list. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed shortly.

Emsisoft Browser Security is a lightweight and straightforward tool that increases the protection level for your online surfing. Its quick installation and ease of use is a plus regarding operation. Even though it has small issues regarding the exclusion list, the extension can prove to be an extra layer of protection.
