Global Speed

Global Speed is a new dashboard for playback options to be used with Chrome for various services like YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, podcasts, etc. This extension provides a bit more control when it comes to navigating through videos and audio bits alike. If you wish for more flexibility regarding speeding up, rewinding, and applying filters to your clips, look no further than this add-on.

To keep everyone happy, Global Speed offers a neat GUI and extensive hotkey support. Those who prefer the interactive layout should pin the icon to the extension bar. This way, you can access the control panel with a single click. The menu contains a dozen speed levels, spanning from 0.25 to 16.00x. Click on any value to change the speed of a video/song instantly. Use arrows to obtain values that fall between the preset ones.

Those working with multiple tabs/windows can alter the dashboard's behavior. Because every tweak you do sticks, there is a way to apply different settings to different tabs.

A new volume slider will be offered. It works independently of any embedded media player. The overall volume potential is increased, but not by a large margin, though.

For a simple playback manager, there are a lot of things to adjust. Play around with channels and frequencies if you are into sound modifications, or add filters and change the shape and size of the site's player.

Visit the general settings to access features like a dark theme, a badge hider for the icon, indicator, speed presets, and more. Leaving the cosmetics aside, the hotkey editor is the focal point here. If you are not happy with the default combinations, you can change them as you please.
