Mr Wolf for Chrome

New Tab extensions can be a great way to make your current browser a little bit less boring. Thankfully, there are numerous extensions of this sort out there, and some can even be of real help (productivity-oriented).

While by no means a stand-out in the crowd of New Tab modifiers, Mr Wolf for Chrome does bring a bit of value to your browser's otherwise dull New Tab page.

More to the point, Mr Wolf for Chrome replaces Chrome's new tabs with a small app that displays any timezone of your choosing. To be more precise, it allows you to select a home timezone and any other city of your choosing as a secondary display.

The extension provides you with various customization options as well. For example, you can choose to display the time in 12 or 24-hour formats, as well as display seconds for both selected cities.

You can also pick between two default color palettes (Original and Dusk), or create a custom one using two-color selectors (Primary and Secondary), and that's pretty much it.

Before we conclude, it's also worth noting that this extension is open source and there are no tracking elements within it.

Taking everything into account, Mr Wolf is a practical, yet not impressive Chrome extension. It allows you to glance over two timezones of your choosing each time you open a new tab, and it offers a few customization options, but other than that there's nothing more to write home about.

Even though it works just as intended, we can't but feel that it would have been a lot more appealing for a broader audience if it could display at least 5 timezones.
