Good ideas are easy to forget. This is why there are a lot of apps that are designed for the very purpose of quickly writing down thoughts so you may remember them later. They can take the form of virtual sticky notes, but sometimes they can even come as browser extensions, like Papier.

After you add this extension to Google Chrome, you will be able to quickly write stuff down in every new tab you open. Your words will stay there until you delete them, so you can return to them at any time. The text is backed up directly in Chrome, without the need of using a Google account.

But apart from being just a notepad for your browser, Papier allows you to format your text by using bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, three different fonts and three font sizes. You can add titles and sub-titles too, but also checkboxes, should you choose to use the extension as a means of creating a list of to-dos.

Even if it’s nothing innovative, one could argue that Papier is a faster way to write things down. Surely, everyone spends a lot of time in their browser even during a workday, so it’s much quicker and accessible to just write something there than to look for notes on your desktop.

And even if you close the browser quickly when you leave work, you’ll still find your thoughts there when you get back in the morning. Come to think of it, this could actually be considered a productivity tool for creative people. I should tell my colleagues about this. Actually, that’s a great idea, I hope I don’t forget.
