Rememberry for Chrome

Rememberry is a smart learning tool that can come in handy for any user interested in picking up a new language. How? Well, the add-on lets you create flashcards out of any word you find online. The cards can later be used to memorize the words along with their definition and a couple of synonyms and antonyms. Besides the learning aspect, the add-on provides a quick translation tool that allows you to decipher sentences on the spot.

After the extension is installed a new context menu entry will become available. The entry lets you select a word from anywhere on a page and transform it into a flashcard. Once created, the card will be added to your deck, and a blue notification will be added to Rememberry's icon.

The context menu feature can be used for quick translations as well. All you have to do is select a word, wait for the translation listing and close the window. As long as you don't click the save button, no card will be sent to your deck.

As soon as you have a large enough deck, you can use the flashcards to start memorizing words. First, you just have to set up the learning method and card behavior. These aspects influence the way the cards are presented and how the user will provide the answers.

For example, if you go with the Classic mode, the card won't be displayed unless you clock the Show Answer button. If you prefer to type in the answer, make sure the learning mode is set to Typing.

In the upper part of the UI, you can find a small arrow that points downward. That arrow is a collapsible menu that changes the interface from the flashcard panel to the translation tool. As soon as you pick this function, the extension icon will turn blue (from green). As for how it can be used, well, you just have to paste a piece of text in and press Enter on the keyboard.

In summary, Rememberry is a translation and a learning tool at the same time, but it is obvious that the translation part is kind of secondary, as most of the work was concentrated on building the flashcard feature. However, none of these functions are useless, so each user is free to decide which services will be of most help.
