Saga Dashboard

New Tab replacements have been here for quite some while now. Usually found in the form of browser extensions, the best of them are responsible for helping us improve our productivity while still adding a bit of color and personality to the bland default new tab page.

Saga Dashboard is one such extension, and it replaces your Chrome default new tab with a functional and quite informational dashboard. Straight off the bat, the dashboard's main advantage is the fact that it allows you to fully tweak your experience.

It does so thanks to various customization features, but more thanks to its multiple, highly configurable widgets. These include a configurable clock, weather forecast, random quotes (Chuck Norris quotes included), Wi-Fi information, currency rates, people in space (yes, we're not joking), and various search engine shortcuts.

To install the extension, head over to the Chrome Web Store and install the dashboard by clicking the "Add to Chrome" button. Next, you'll need to create a Saga Dashboard account or log in with your Google credentials. This allows it to update your information and settings across multiple browsers signed in with your account.

Most widgets have editable settings. To access them, simply click on them to open the Settings section. To remove a widget, simply hover the cursor over it for 2 seconds and select the "Remove widget name" link below it.

The dashboard also displays a unique photo each day, which is not something so uncommon with these types of extensions. While Saga Dashboard does not have an impressive number of widgets just yet, the ones that are available still manage to make it worthy of your attention.
