Shelf Collaborative Web Clipper

As its name makes it obvious, Shelf Collaborative Web Clipper is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to capture, clip, bookmark Internet and other types of content, and shelve it within a clean and organized environment.

This is by no means a groundbreaking concept but, fret not, Shelf Collaborative Web Clipper does bring something new to the table, in the form of collaborative features and a very convenient and thoroughly-designed account synchronization method.

We'll start off by saying that you can effortlessly import content from services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, with support for Trellor currently in the works.

But, before you can actually start working with this useful extension, you need to first download the extension from the Chrome Web Store and enlisting in the ongoing Beta program, on the official website.

Once you are logged in, you can start capturing content by simply clicking the extension's icon, from the right side of Chrome's address bar. At this point, you are greeted by a compact UI that displays a few variations for capturing content.

The modes are appropriately-named Note, Link, Article, Image, Clipping, Video, Text Highlight, Organization, and Person. To be fair, all modes are well thought-out and do a great job at enhancing the content grabbing process, but the Image and Clipping are two of the most praiseworthy of the lot.

While we're on the subject, it's also relevant to point out that with the help of this extensions, you can capture videos from two of the most popular sources, YouTube and Vimeo.

All your saved content can be accessed within the app's web-based UI, which can be "summoned" by clicking the clicking the user icon, and by clicking your username, once more.

You are bound to find this section quite useful as it provides you with quick access to all your saved content, that can organize within sections such as Libraries, Type, Source, Date, Tag, and Badge.

In spite of its young development stage, Shelf Collaborative Web Clipper is still a very usable extension backed up by what seems to be a fairly reliable service.

It's no denying that it is perfectly capable of helping you capture Internet content but, better yet, it also provides you with the possibility to share everything with your organization or team members.
