Sound Booster for Chrome

One of the most annoying things about stumbling upon a video with poor sound output is the inability to raise its volume over a desired threshold. So is the case with music one engages with using the browser. In case, hardware like speakers or headphones is unable to raise the volume without adding static noise, Sound Booster for Chrome might get you out of the pickle. This extension provides a volume manager that goes up to 500% in scale, stacking with your system's sound as well as your hardware.

As this extension requires a constant flow of interaction, it would be advised to pin its icon, making it easier to access when using Chrome. The same icon displays a subtle value tab, depicting the levels of volume set, before closing the UI.

The interface is a simple white panel holding the volume selector. From left to right, the slider moves from 0% to 500%. Between the fringe values, one can find a boost tracker that shows you the currently selected level. Setting the volume to 0% will mute everything running within the browser's tabs, no matter what the system's levels are.

When adjusting the slider, a transparent overlay will appear in the center of the tab. This overlay is purely artistic, offering one a graphical representation of how loud the selected volume is.

While not all videos are having issues with low volume levels, having a Sound Booster in your collection should not hurt. Using this add-on will spare you the effort of constantly adjusting your headphones or speaker levels due to inconsistent volume thresholds. On top of that, it's very easy to use, as it's a mere slider.
